Apollo/Apollon was championed by the biblical enemy of the Maccabee's Seleucid Kingdom and the 'father' of Seleukos I Nikator. Apollon is the Great God of Music, Poetry, Art, Divination as well as Plague, Locusts and is the Patron God of the Seleucid Empire. Apollo-Apollon is also the model for the early Christian's "Apollyon the King of the Bottomless Pit" and destroyer.
